We hope this letter finds you well in the New Year.

For the past 58 summers, Camp DeBaun has provided thousands of children in Oceanside and the surrounding communities with the finest in day camping. We have had hundreds of second-generation children and several third-generation children as our campers. It has been our family life's work, privilege and passion from the very start.

Over the past few weeks, our family has met to discuss the future of Camp DeBaun. We have labored for countless hours over these discussions, and we have come to the very difficult decision to "retire" from the camping business and "close our doors." This decision comes with an extremely strong emotional cost, not only to all of us as a family, but especially to you, members of our extended Camp DeBaun family.

From the bottom of our hearts, we genuinely thank you for being part of our family. We deeply appreciate and respect your loyalty, kindness and willingness to entrust your most precious "possessions"--your children--to us over our 58-year history. Together, we have accomplished and enjoyed so much. It has truly been a labor of love.
